The Smoke Show is an annual barbeque and music festival in Kansas City, Missouri with the goal of bringing the city together to celebrate the food and culture that make it what it is.

Problem
Create a visual identity system for a barbeque festival that appeals to pit masters, barbeque historians, and casual barbeque fans alike. The final product should have a strong feel of Kansas City and barbeque culture while being versatile enough to work in many contexts.
Solution
Combine the inspiration and iconography of typical barbeque branding with a simple and consistent illustration style, uniform type, and distressed texture effects in order to create a consistent and modular identity that is evocative of its barbeque roots.
